Our Take:
Let’s just call it like it is. This past year(s) has been less than desirable. We never really realized how much we missed traveling until it abruptly was taken away from us. True story; our very last trip that we booked through Expedia was to the Turks & Caicos. It was 7 days of heaven. We flew back into NYC the day that the world basically shut down due to the pandemic. One of the biggest things we’re grateful for is that we took that trip. That last trip. Well, that last trip for a while. But now, my friends, we’re ready to book that next trip. It’s all happening!

We’re not here to say that everything is fully back to normal yet. It may never be back to the normal that we were used to from the past. But, alas, it will be time to move forward in a healthy and responsible way. And, if it’s one thing we’ve learned throughout all of this? Book the damn trip.
We’re pretty internet savvy, but when it comes to all of our travel booking we typically go with Expedia. They actually make it easy to book flight + hotels + car rental, they send your boarding pass right to your phone, and you can even check-in online (via the app or just the site) 24 hours before your flight takes off. And now you can even book really fun experiences based on where your destination is. Oh, and the prices are usually really good.
Now look, we’re not ones to ever buy the insurance when they offer it at the end of your transaction, but these days we’re definitely recommending to buy that insurance. We always go for the one that basically allows us to just say “yeah, we don’t feel like going so can we have our money back?” These days we’re not blind to the fact that trips can be “rearranged” at a moments notice.
So, our final advice of these days of booking travel? Don’t go-it alone. Let Expedia help you out. If there was ever a time we need professionals to assist us, this is it. Oh, and they’re always having some really amazing deals too. More on that next!
The Deal With the Deals:
Finding a travel deal for somewhere you actually want to go is a feat in itself. So many sites offer great deals but, like, they’re either in 10 minutes from now or they’re for Siberia in the middle of winter. No thanks.

And they’ve even recently been rated as one of the top sites, by independent experts, for their actual real deals. Totally worth it!
From our recent analysis we’ve found that, on average, you can save anywhere between 10% – 20% off originally priced hotel stays, flights, experiences, and more. Now, keep in mind that those percentages can change a bit, especially as everyone figures out how to travel safely again. We’ll update it as time progresses and we get back normal.
To Gift or Not to Gift:
So this is a first for us. This is the first time we’re actually going to say that these actually don’t make great gifts currently. In the past you were able to gift tickets or experiences, but due to everything going on right now it’s not really available. Bookmark this page (do people still do that?!) because we’ll update it as things progress with some gift ideas for all those picky people on your gifting list this year.
The Deal With Promo Codes:
Another popular question. So here’s the deal with that. No, Expedia doesn’t give our promo code offers or even coupons to other websites (in fact, we don’t offer any of them here either, like, ever!). We’ve looked on all the regular go-to sites that typically have working discount codes, but we’ve yet to find any legit ones that actually worked. Why does that always happen?!
The promising news is that Expedia does, from time to time, have promo codes for their customers. The only catch? You have to just shop them direct on their own site. In fact, they have a section that’s dedicated to the current and active coupons available today. Check that out here!
As always, we recommend to sign up for their emails because you’ll be the first to know about new deals, future sales, and they’ll even send you some coupons directly from time to time!
