There’s no denying that YETI is one of the best cooler brands on the market, but if their prices don’t match with your budget – don’t sweat it. We found some really amazing YETI alternatives that don’t skimp on quality.
If you follow us around here you know of our love for all things “YETI.” We own more of their products than we know what to do with, including their new dog bowls. But we know that not everyone is as obsessed with them as we are and, well, are sometimes looking for a comparable alternative.
In our opinion, we don’t like the word “dupe” because it makes it seem like other brands have knocked them off or that they’re “fake” but we did some research, read all the reviews, and even bought some of the alternative products ourselves to see if they were truly comparable, similar enough, and worth it.
We actually were a bit surprised with how similar other brands are and, at times, the major difference in price. What surprised us even more was that there were some cases (listed below) where the YETI item was actually cheaper than the alternative. Go figure!
Here are the specific alternatives we covered:
- The Tundra 45 Hard Cooler
- The M20 Hopper Soft Cooler
- The Rambler 20 Tumbler
- The Wine Rambler 10
- The Tundra Haul 45
- The Rambler Travel “Coffee” Mug
When comparing alternatives we looked at the following:
- Model
- Price
- Beer Can/Liquid Capacity
- Weight
- Removable Lid (If Applicable)
- Where to Buy
In order to find a true comparison, we tried out best to find almost an exact match when it came to size, weight, capacity and even color. We were surprised at how similar so many of the colors were…making it even better when looking for a true dupe of sorts.
Without further ado, check out some of the best YETI cooler and tumbler alternatives (so far) in 2024!
YETI HARD COOLER ALTERNATIVE
There are plenty of hard cooler options and sizes from YETI, but in this case we took a look at the Tundra 45 – which is one of their current best sellers.
MODEL | YETI Tundra 45 | RTIC 45 QT |
PRICE | $325 | $200 |
BEER CAN CAPACITY | 28 | 36 |
WEIGHT | 23 lbs | 29 lbs |
WHERE TO BUY | BUY ON YETI | BUY ON RTIC |
Average Savings: $125 (38% Less)
Both the YETI Tundra and RTIC 45 QT really are similar. In fact, RTIC can hold a few extra beers but, overall will be about 6 pounds heavier to carry around.
Pros to the Alternative:
For us, the biggest pro in going with the RTIC 45 QT is the price for sure. This is one of the biggest differences we’ve seen overall, with an average savings around $125, which really is crazy. It’ll also hold a few more beers (or beverage cans of your choice of average size).
Cons to the Alternative:
It is a bit heavier and the color selection isn’t as extensive as YETI’s. Currently for 45 QT you can only choose from white, tan, grey, and blue (pictured above). Whereas YETI currently has 6 different color options, including their newest colors of the season.
YETI SOFT COOLER ALTERNATIVE
MODEL | YETI M20 Hopper | ORCA 20 Soft Cooler |
PRICE | $325 | $194 |
BEER CAN CAPACITY | 18 | 20 |
WEIGHT | 4.8 lbs | 3.6 lbs |
WHERE TO BUY | BUY ON YETI | BUY ON HOME DEPOT |
Average Savings: $131 (40% Less)
Orca may be a little less known than the powerhouse YETI M20 Hopper, but it can still do the job and save some some cash all at the same time. If you’re looking for a “cheap” soft cooler (ok, it’s not that cheap…but in comparison!) you may want to check out the Orca. We found the best deal online at Home Depot, believe it or not. It’s been sold out on Amazon for a while now, but you can always check it out here.
Pros to the Alternative:
Another winner when it comes to the price, you can save a little over $130 vs. the YETI option. It’s a bit lighter weight-wise and can hold about 2 additional average size beverage cans inside.
Cons to the Alternative:
For us, the biggest con is that you have to carry it on your shoulder vs. YETI’s in which you can wear it like a backpack, making it way easier to carry around.
YETI TUMBLER ALTERNATIVE
MODEL | YETI Rambler 20 | Hydroflask 20 |
PRICE | $35 | $28 |
LIQUID CAPACITY | 20 | 20 |
LID | Yes | Yes |
WHERE TO BUY | BUY ON YETI | BUY ON HYDRO |
Average Savings: $7 (20% Less)
For this “dupe” we tried to match up the exact size and color (as we did with the others). There aren’t a ton of savings here – only about $7 – but the color selection on both Hydroflask and YETI are comparable.
Pros to the Alternative:
Again, the price is key making it about 20% less than YETI. With Hydroflask they currently offer three different sizes to choose from – 12 oz, 16 oz, 20 oz, and 28 oz. Whereas YETI only offers 10 oz, 20 oz, and 30 oz.
Cons to the Alternative:
We actually own both of these (not the same color though) and in our experience our YETI actually keeps our drink colder for a bit longer.
If you don’t think $7 in savings is that big of a deal, you may want to go with the YETI option.
YETI WINE TUMBLER ALTERNATIVE
MODEL | YETI Wine Rambler 10 | Corkcicle Wine Tumbler |
PRICE | $25 | $30 |
LIQUID CAPACITY | 10 oz | 12 oz |
LID | Yes | Yes |
WHERE TO BUY | BUY ON YETI | Buy at Corksicle |
Average Savings: -$5 (20% More Expensive)
Something we don’t see all the time is one of the dupes being more expensive than the YETI. In this case, the Corkcicle wine tumbler is $5 more than the YETI wine tumbler, but the Corkcicle option actually hold 2 additional ounces. Hey, every bit of extra wine helps!
Pros to the Alternative:
We personally also own one of these Corkcicles and we love it. Outside of the additional capacity, Corkcicle has way more colors, patterns, and styles to choose from. We’re talking dozens more to choose from. This is really their bread and butter.
Cons to the Alternative:
Of course the price is the biggest con, but other than that we’re coming up blank.
YETI WHEELED COOLER ALTERNATIVE
MODEL | YETI Tundra Haul 45 | Pelican 45QW Elite |
PRICE | $400 | $430 |
BEER CAN CAPACITY | 45 | 45 |
WEIGHT | 37 lbs | 37.25 lbs |
WHERE TO BUY | BUY ON YETI | BUY ON PELICAN |
Average Savings: -$30 (7% More Expensive)
We’ve covered Pelican here in the past and really like their coolers and cases a ton, but this is another instance where they’re a bit more expensive than YETI. In fact, we’re talking about having to spend $30 for something so similar. Their weight, number of cans it can hold and overall size is pretty much the same.
Pros to the Alternative:
Pelican is really known to be the masters when it comes to durability of their coolers overall. In fact, their 45 QQ Elite is actually certified to be bear resistant.
Cons to the Alternative:
Pelican is a bit on the more expensive side ($30 difference) and they have less color options than YETI. YETI’s Tundra Haul 45 has more color choices, including their new seasonal colors, which gives them a bit of an edge when it comes to style.
YETI TRAVEL COFFEE MUG ALTERNATIVE
MODEL | YETI Rambler Travel Mug | RTIC Travel Coffee Mug |
PRICE | $38 | $19 |
LIQUID CAPACITY | 20 oz | 20 oz |
REMOVABLE LID | Yes | Yes |
WHERE TO BUY | BUY ON YETI | BUY ON RTIC |
Average Savings: $19 (50% Less)
There’s a real difference in price between YETI’s coffee mug (travel size) and RTIC’s coffee mug (travel size), but overall everything else is pretty much the same when it comes to liquid capacity (20 ounce) and a must-have removable lid.
Pros to the Alternative:
For sure, the price. Currently the RTIC is 50% less cheaper than YETI’s. Another pro is their color selection For this specific travel coffee mug RTIC offers 24 different colors to choose from, whereas YETI currently only offers 8 color choices.
Cons to the Alternative:
For us the biggest con is that even though both claim to keep drinks hot and cold for roughly the same amount of time, we found that our coffee stayed pretty hot for the entire hour vs. RTIC’s which definitely stayed warm, but not “hot.” At the same time, who takes an hour to drink coffee anyway?! The only other con is that RTIC doesn’t offer customization on their coffee mug like YETI does.
