When it comes to guys, studies show that the average dude owns more sneakers and spends more on each pair than you may think. For example, on average, men own 7 pairs of sneakers (vs. women who own 6), they spend about $120 per pair and, in total, they shell out around $400 during the year on a variety of different kicks. The myth that guys only own one really good pair of sneaker is so wrong!

THE LATEST SNEAKER TRENDS THIS YEAR

If you’re looking for the latest sneaker trends, they’ve roughly stayed the same for the past year or two. As always, I say that style is subjective so go with whatever you’re into and whatever brings you a little extra joy. But overall, some of the trends I’m still seeing include things like:

"DAD SNEAKERS"

Everything old is new again! Chunky sneakers, also known as “dad shoes,” have been a popular trendfor the past couple years. These sneakers typically have a bulky sole, a retro-inspired design, and are typically not more than two colors. You know, just like how your dad wore ’em.

SUSTAINABLE SNEAKERS

Sustainable fashion has become more and more important recently, and this trend has extended to the fashion world, especially when it comes to sneakers. So many brands (many that are mainstream) now offer sneakers made from eco-friendly materials, like recycled plastic and organic cotton.

HIGH-TOPS

High-top sneakers aren’t just for the basketball court anymore. High-tops are easy to spot since they typically extend just above your ankle. Not only do they provide a little extra ankle support, they add a little extra “cool factor” to just about any outfit.

MONOCHROME SNEAKERS

Monochrome sneakers, which are all one color, have been a popular trend in recent years. You’ll typically find this minimalist look from classic sneaker designs like the Converse Chuck Taylor or the Adidas Superstar.

RETRO-INSPIRED
